While this patch focuses on various fixes, it also hopes to address some of our players more vocal concerns.

Overtime!

One of the main concerns from the game are round lengths dragging on. In the past, we tried progressively boosting licks after they’ve been alive too long but it did not prevent them from getting stuck in an odd pattern (example: Bulls cannot kill the mamaship).

In order to adjust this better, and ensure faster match times, we decided to introduce the overtime mechanic. In addition to ensuring that rounds no longer drag on, this mechanic should also add a new element to the gameplay rewarding players for clearing the wave significantly faster than their opponents.

The way it works:

After the first player clears his wave, a 10 second timer begins. If the round is not over by that time, Overtime! will kick in for all players that have not cleared their licks.

When in overtime every 0.2 seconds:

Overtime damage cannot be healed by the Recovery mechanic. It also ignores all damage mechanics like frailty and armor.

Improving how we value your time

We recognize that the ratio of reward for playing matches to time investment might make our progression feel too slow.

In order to make playing Gotchi Guardians feel more rewarding, we decided to significantly boost the speed at which you can level up your guardians.
